TERA News – Checkin’ Out the End Game

En Masse Entertainment has announced a new "Level Up" event in which every player will be granted a permanent level 58 character, complete with all gear, if the event guidelines are properly executed.

The world of TERA is a big place — and we want you and your friends to experience as much of it as possible. That’s why we're offering a free, permanent level 58 character for all new and existing accounts. The Level Up Test Event offers a great chance to bring a new or experienced MMO friend into TERA so you can group up and start adventuring together immediately. It’s also a great opportunity to try your hand at a new class without having to start from scratch.

This event is for a limited time only. If the test is successful, we will use the feedback to further improve your TERA experience going forward.

Here are the guidelines on getting your level 58:

• New characters created between Thursday, September 19 at 10 a.m. PST and Sunday, September 22 at 11:59 p.m. PST will be eligible for this event.

You must create a race and class of your choosing and assign a name ending in ".Levelup"

Starting Monday, September 23, we will run a script that levels up eligible characters.

We will update here when the script starts, and when it completes.
– If you're on the character when the script starts, you will be disconnected. Things will process just fine.
– If you're on another character, you won't be affected.
– We hope to complete the script within 24 hours, but that depends greatly on the number of participants in the test.

Characters will provided with:

– Level 58
– 1 Name change voucher (non-tradable)
– 1 beginner mount.
– T11 soulbound gear for all classes (feel free to use the extra as fodder)
– All items will be sent to parcel
– All story quests (available, but incomplete)

While we are taking measures to ensure that the Level Up Test Event runs smoothly, we want to remind you that this is a test, which may result in technical issues or delays. Expect updates to this thread regarding such matters as well as announcements when we start and finish the script. If all goes as planned, all participants can look forward to a brand new level 58 character to adventure with in the world of TERA.

TERA News – The Dungeon Assault Experience

Today, En Masse Entertainment unleashes the latest TERA Rising update, Dungeon Assault. The patch brings new features and dungeons into the game. We caught up with Patrick Sun to find out more about Dungeon Assault. See what he's got to say about what players will encounter before heading to the comments.

MMORPG: TERA has always held to having some of the best bosses in any MMO. Will the Dungeon Assault add to this experience for players?

Patrick Sun: Players will encounter brand new bosses with new game mechanics as they play through the collection of dungeons. Kezzel’s Gorge, as an example, features a forest giant hell bent on destroying a city as you deploy tower defense mechanics to take it down. Wonderholme is ruled by a maniacal caterpillar that uses a variety of confusion tactics to keep you a permanent guest at his castle. There are a lot of unique challenges players will face in Dungeon Assault that’ll mix it up from the ordinary raid formula to keep things interesting.

TERA News – Dungeon Assault Coming September 10th

En Masse Entertainment has announced the released of the next TERA Rising update. Called "Dungeon Assault", the update is slated to launch on September 10th and will feature four new dungeons, new bosses, new game modes and more epic gear.

En Masse Entertainment, a player-driven publisher focused on delivering fun and innovative online games, announced today it is adding four all-new dungeons with dynamic new game modes, epic bosses, and elite gear to its MMO, TERA: Rising. Scheduled to launch on September 10, 2013, the Dungeon Assault update is packed with new content, taking players from the mysterious Wonderholme castle to tower defense battles against beasts of legend. With these new challenges and adventures come some of the greatest rewards yet for TERA: Rising’s growing community of over 2 million players. Gear up with some of the strongest armor in the game by “Leveling Up” Conjunct, Visionmaker, and Bloodrave armor sets – and defeat the mightiest foes for rare loot.

The new dungeons are:

Wonderholme

  • Type: 10-player co-op adventure
  • Key features: Discover twisted new enemies, new bosses, and unique game mechanics in a castle of wonder.
  • Description: A lethally whimsical castle that appeared from nowhere has drawn researchers from across the land. Unfortunately, the Bandersnatch, ruler of Wonderholme, has taken the head researcher hostage, and the Mysterium Council is offering a substantial reward for her rescue.

Channelworks

  • Type: 3-player sewer mission
  • Key features: Fight fiendish traps and monsters through the underground tunnels and uncover the hidden treasures of the Channelworks.
  • Description: Deep beneath the Veritas District, a series of aqueducts maintained by automatons supply water to the western deserts of the world of TERA. The Channelworks has been invaded by violent monsters, and the automatons are powerless to stop it.

Kezzel’s Gorge

  • Type: 7-player tower defense
  • Key features: Race against the clock to stop the giant using an assortment of environmental traps.
  • Description: Shipments passing through the forests of Frontera are falling afoul of a brutal giant with a taste for magical ore. As wagon after wagon disappears down the giant’s gullet, the caravan leader calls for help.

Shattered Fleet

  • Type: 5-player BAM beatdown
  • Key features: Defeat BAMs on a series of wrecked, unstable ships; defeat Barbosa and his crew to recover the cargo and claim rare drops and Zenith treasure chests.
  • Description: The federation's latest noctenium shipment has run aground off the Jagged Coast, and the rescue party’s last report mentioned BAM sightings aboard the derelict ships.

TERA News – Three-Faction PVP Comes to TERA

TERA is getting ready for an exciting political overhaul in the forthcoming Rising Alliance update that will see Vanarchs give way to continent-ruling Exarchs and alliances battling for control of a new resource. We chatted with Producer Patrick Sun about Rising Alliance. Find out more before heading to the comments with your thoughts.

MMORPG:  What exactly is the Exarch political system then?

Patrick Sun: The old Vanarch system largely relied on player voting. While that’s good for our democratic system, in an action-based game you want combat to do the talking, or voting, in this case. In Alliance, there will be multiple ways to earn Contribution Points such as invading enemy alliance territories, stealing their Noctenium extractors, or just plain PVP against enemy alliance members.

New quests and dungeons also come into play, which expand the Alliance content to more than just PvP. The guild that ends up with the most Contribution Points at the end of the election cycle will have their guild leader crowned as the Exarch of the entire alliance.
